Homeschooled Third Grader Gets Dunked On By Dad At Recess
Third grader and only child Jaden Carpenter’s favorite part of school has always been recess. Homeschool is now in session indefinitely thanks to COVID-19, yet Jaden has remained a staunch advocate of his beloved mid-day break. “I was worried that recess at home by myself would stink,” he said. “But every day dad and I play basketball. It’s my favorite sport. We play horse, 21, and one-on-one. I always win. My dad says I’m as good as Damian Lillard – he’s my favorite player.“
During their game of one-on-one Thursday afternoon however, something changed. Jaden had reached game point and was brimming with confidence. “You’re throwing up more bricks than Russell Westbrook, dad!” he taunted.
Mark Carpenter’s normally sunny disposition turned stormy. “Day after day I let you win and you come at me like that? Mad disrespectful, bruh. Watch this.”
What transpired was utter carnage. The 44-year-old posted up, euro stepped and pump faked his way to twenty straight points. His overwhelming size and dad strength, plus what he later referred to as “quintessential Mamba Mentality” proved to be more than his ten-year-old son could handle.
With the score tied at twenty, the next person to score would emerge victorious. Mark, breathing heavily and glistening with sweat, backed his son down in the post. He gave a shimmy shake and proceeded to posterize his son with a two handed tomahawk dunk, the likes of which the 7 foot hoop had never seen.
He let out guttural “whoop!“, drop kicked the ball into the neighbor’s yard and yelled “WHO’S YOUR DADDY!?” Jaden picked himself up off the driveway, announced that he’s telling the teacher, and ran inside looking for his mom.
