Papa Murphy’s And Papa Haydn Collaborate On Cake That You Have To Bake At Home

For nearly 50 years, local eatery Papa Haydn has delighted Portlanders with its regional fare and eye-catching desserts. On Friday they announced a partnership with another Pacific Northwest-based culinary patriarch: Vancouver, Washington’s own Papa Murphy’s Pizza, renowned for providing customers cold slabs of dough with various uncooked ingredients on a cardboard disc for them to bake at home at their own inconvenience.
“We’re excited to bring the rich tradition of our confections into more homes in an accessible way just in time for the holidays,” announced Papa Haydn Vice President of Corporate Sponsorship Mikayla Ruppè. “If customers can’t make it into our restaurants, they can stop by participating Papa Murphy’s locations to pick up bake-at-home versions of some of our most beloved confections. We think customers will enjoy preparing various treats such as our raspberry Gâteau with brandied chocolate fallen Soufflé, dark chocolate ganache with glazed raspberries and our Haydn’s Comet with espresso brownie, walnuts, semisweet chocolate dip and caramelized white chocolate drizzle. Kits include batters, doughs, fruits and various toppings that the dessert requires and easy instructions on how to temper chocolate, create passionfruit raspberry mousse, whip buttercream and set panna cotta. We’re delighted that customers will now be able to ‘Take “N” Cake’ whenever they please!”
“Two Papas? I can’t believe I’m alive in this timeline,” exclaimed longtime Papa Murphy’s customer Jorky Hernandez as he prepared to take home his order. “Finally combined are the fine patisserie of Papa Haydn and the convenience of Papa Murphy’s. There sure is a lot of writing here, but I assume all I have to do is the normal Papa Murphy’s protocol: remove the plastic wrap, heat the oven to 425 degrees then bake it for 12-18 minutes until the crust of my Baked Alaska is golden brown and delicious!”
