Last Pok Pok Wing In Existence Sells At Auction For $10 Million
Wealthy foodies and Oregon historians alike clamored to an auction house in Northeast Portland on Tuesday evening to bid on items of cultural importance, rarity and beauty.
The evening featured iconic culinary gems of yesteryear. Pieces such as Le Bistro Montage’s final bowl of Cajun mac wrapped into an elegant tin foil swan and an unopened bottle of Bridgeport Brewing IPA were sold to collectors for prices well over a million dollars.
The real pinnacle of the evening however was saved for last – the last Fish Sauce Chicken Wing in existence from Andy Ricker’s Pok Pok restaurants. Hotly sought after, a bidding war broke out before the item was even announced, and security had to step in to calm raucous attendees. After a lengthy battle, it was sold to an individual who insisted that their identity remain anonymous.
When asked what they were going to do with the wing, the mysterious new owner replied, “Once I have it authenticated, I will keep it in my private collection. I plan on wowing my many important dinner guests, foreign dignitaries and local celebrities alike, with my one-of-a-kind item that puts their possessions of modern and contemporary art to shame. One could say that this gorgeous piece of food art that is now in my possession will single handedly rewrite Oregon’s motto to become ’She flies with her own chicken wings.”
