Portlanders Urged To Prepare For Coronavirus By Stockpiling Three Month Supply Of Kombucha

With a second death confirmed in Washington and a third case reported in Oregon, COVID-19 panic is in full effect. Residents are suddenly faced with a very real threat that for months had seemed distant and existential. ⁣

Oregon Health Authority has teamed up with OHSU’s newly formed emergency response team to develop a preparation guide in an attempt to quell concern and help Portlanders prepare for the worst. “It’s vital to have a stockpile of essentials just in case,” detailed OHSU director of Infection and Disease Control John Townes. “For starters, we encourage all residents to keep at least three months supply of kombucha in your basement. Brew Dr.’s orders.“⁣⁣

The guide, available on OHA’s website, details other emergency preparedness steps Portlanders should take such as baking at least five pounds of kale chips, pickling at least one of every vegetable, and assembling shelf stable ‘bunch in a box’ kits for those groggy Sunday mornings when you’re quarantined but you ‘just can’t even’.⁣⁣
