Providence Park Security Nearly Finished Scanning Tickets From Saturday’s Post Malone Concert

Over 30,000 fans of pop-country flocked from all over Washington and suburbs of Portland to Providence Park on Saturday night in hopes of enjoying a Post Malone and Jelly Roll concert. The venue and its staff had other ideas.
With the show slated to start at 6:30pm and doors opening an hour before, the large early-arriving crowds were met with no signage or direction from venue staff and began waiting in an amoeba-like gaggle to enter the venue. The confused and poorly trained venue staff did their best to admit people to the show, but a lack of organization led to huge delays and dangerous bottlenecks.
“We had some slight hiccups, but I’m proud to report that our highly competent event professionals have almost completed processing all of our ticket-holding guests into the venue,” stated Providence Park Concert Director Jaqueline Portola. “As a special treat, tickets double as a TriMet pass, so attendees who don’t have the patience to wait a third day to enter can take the bus home free of charge.”
“I love these artists and they attract a crowd of fans that is generally punctual,” said Rosie Bonilla of Tacoma, Washington as she neared the front of the line at 11am on Monday. “So I hope there is still some music once we get in. Maybe Posty will do a quintuple encore or something.”
