Hogwarts Students Topple Salazar Slytherin Statue
The Daily Prophet reported Friday morning that students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have toppled a centuries old statue commemorating a controversial founder of the school.
“Salazar Slytherin should not be celebrated,” proclaimed fifth year Hufflepuff Alabaster Twiggles. “He valued purebloods – he was basically a proponent of eugenics. There’s no place in society for that, and anyone who thinks we should celebrate him is standing on the wrong side of history.“
Many Slytherins expressed outrage over the desecration of their house patriarch. “Just wait until my father hears about this,” complained third year Scorpius Malfoy. “Look, I understand that times have changed and that we can no longer openly profess the fact that some wizarding families are better than others. But we also have the right to celebrate our heritage, and the students who did this are trying to rewrite A History Of Magic.”
