Swedish House Mafia To Headline Tabor Dance

Every Wednesday for the past five years there has been a dance party on Mount Tabor. What started as a group of a few friends looking to wiggle during the COVID pandemic has now blossomed into a free outdoor soiree that welcomes thousands of Portland’s free spirits, circus folk, and wooks alike.

Normally Tabor Dance showcases local DJ talent, but this Wednesday a special surprise is in store. Plugging their decks into a portable battery will be none other than world famous DJ supergroup, Swedish House Mafia who will stop in Southeast Portland before jetting off to Europe for other headlining gigs..

“We really dig the mission of Tabor Dance. Getting the community together to dance is what it’s all about. To be here to celebrate their fifth anniversary is really special,” said group member Steve Angello. “We love doing arenas and clubs around the world, but we’re not above playing a free event at a park for the people. I hope the whole city comes out to catch our set.”

When asked if there is a potential for this to turn into a residency, Angello left the door open. “The boys and I would be open to coming back, but I’ll let you know for sure after the first time we tell everybody to put their hands up in the air. Our answer depends on how many of the attendees are wearing aluminum deodorant.”
