Portland has always been a place for folks who are not afraid to dream big. Every 18 months, the Portland Diamond Project comes up with a new angle to pitch an expensive baseball stadium that they have no idea how to pay for to house a baseball team that few in the city want. They ride a news cycle and then lay dormant. Recently they have teamed up with a fellow dreamer. ⁣

“I love what these guys are all about, but I think they should release their inhibitions and go for something larger,” said founder of the infamous Fyre Fest brand of fraudulent luxury music festivals, Billy McFarland. “Coming out with AI renderings of your venue is a good step, but it’s trodden ground. With our new partnership, I think we can create some magic, blow some minds, and collect a few rounds of that sweet, sweet funding.”⁣

Portland Diamond Project and McFarland are working on a project that a spokesperson claimed is “like if Ted Talks, the Apollo missions, Coachella, Rainforest Cafe, the Daytona 500, Despicable Me 2, Grand Central Bakery and the elephant sanctuary at the Oregon Zoo all had a baby”. ⁣

“Legally, I can’t tell you much right now,” McFarland asserted coyly. “But what I can say is that the experience will be truly unforgettable, presale tickets will be absolutely non-refundable, and it is definitely not a scam.”
