Naked Bike Ride Location Revealed: Right Between You And The Place You Need To Go

This Saturday marks the latest installment of Portland’s World Naked Bike Ride. The official dress code is “bare as you dare”, and Portland cyclists will strip down and saddle up for the raucous annual summer tradition that is officially a protest for cyclist safety, against oil dependency and in support of body positivity.⁣

Normally the route is kept secret to keep lookie-loos at bay, but this year event organizers decided to let the cat out of the bag. The ride will start at Irving Park but will then snake around the metro area strategically to get in the way of drivers, pedestrians and public transit users alike, blocking them from getting to their destinations.

“In a normal year, the ride disrupts maybe 30% to 40% of Portland residents. With our diligent planning over the last 12 months, we are hoping that we can successfully block 90% of the population from getting to their destinations all over town,” said WNBR director of unclothed operations Aloysius Gingersnap.⁣

City officials recommend an “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” approach. Since the bike ride is guaranteed to disrupt almost all travel plans, every Portlander is advised to wrap their bike seat in a small towel, don shoes, a helmet and their birthday suit and to show up at Irving Park at 7:30pm. ⁣
