Promising OHSU Resident Signs Lucrative Endorsement Deal With Dansko

OBGYN resident Alyssa Fitch, a five-star recruit ranked #1 on ESPN’s “Top Physicians Prospect List,” has been the darling of advertisers and scouts ever since she recorded a perfect score on her MCAT in 2016. Since then, shoe industry titans have aggressively courted the OHSU resident, hoping to make her the face of their brand.⁣

FIGS, the millennial scrubleisure brand, had their sponsorship offer immediately rejected. Nike sent her a robust offer this spring that included $2 million per year and a signature Zoom X Vaporfly Next shoe featuring custom stitched fallopian tubes on the tongue. Not to be outdone, nursing and kitchen mainstay Crocs promised to run Fitch her own ad campaign with their other star signee, Post Malone, in addition to her own line of “Jibblitz” (also known as “Croc Charms.“) ⁣

In the end, comfort behemoth Dansko won the heart, mind and feet of the OBGYN prodigy. In a press conference on Tuesday at OHSU, Fitch detailed her excitement. “For me it wasn’t about the money. It was about working with a shoe company that aligns with my values. Ever since I was a kid, I knew that Dansko clogs were the choice of cooks, flight attendants and nurses everywhere for a reason. That reason is the brand’s commitment to honor, style, comfort and clog culture. It is my honor to become the face of the company and I can’t wait to show everyone with weary tootsies the exciting things we’re working on.” ⁣

Dansko officials were cagey about the terms of the recently signed agreement, but public records obtained by The Scallion detailed the contract. The first year, as with all Dansko sponsorship deals, provides Fitch with no money, and she actually has to pay the company $5,000. This tradition is to honor the calendar year that it takes to break in the iconic clogs. After year one, the contract pays the star resident $5.4 million per year with added incentives if she meets benchmarks such as being named to the OHSU All-Star team or makes it into the “triple digit club” – delivering a hundred babies in six months.
