R.N.C. Scrambles To Give Kenosha Shooter Primetime Slot At Convention
Protestors have taken to the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, demanding justice for Jacob Blake, a Black man who was shot multiple times in the back by police. During the protests, a gunman shot three protestors, killing two of them.
The Republican National Convention is also underway, and when RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel heard about the events in Kenosha, she acted swiftly, giving the shooter a primetime slot for the event’s final night.
“The Republican Party has a proud history of eroding civil rights, emboldening white supremacists and standing in the way of gun control. These among other issues are central to our strategy for President Trump’s reelection in November. We shifted some Trump family speakers around to make room in the lineup for this young man who truly embodies the spirit of the party.“
