Sam Adams Assures City COVID Is 19 And Totally Legal
Former Portland mayor Sam Adams made headlines earlier this year when he announced a bid for Chloe Eudaly’s city council seat. The 56-year-old Oregon native served one term as mayor, but his tenure was perhaps best remembered by the allegations, investigation, and eventual confession that he had sexual relations with a teenage intern of a state representative.
During a recent speech heavily focusing on the novel coronavirus, Adams calmed any concern stemming from his past indiscretions. “COVID is 19 – it’s perfectly legal,” he assured voters. “I want to focus my campaign on issues that matter most to Portlanders such as income inequality, aging infrastructure and the homelessness crisis. Not the fact that this coronavirus is of age. Which it totally is.“
