Oregon Symphony To Perform NOW! 12 In Desperate Bid To Attract Millenials
Facing declining audiences and aging attendees, the @oregonsymphony is hard at work coming up with new and innovative ways to attract a younger demographic. After successful orchestral renditions of Star Wars and Harry Potter, the symphony is venturing into the world of nostalgic pop music. On November 2, @jamn1075 will present NOW That’s What I Call Music! 12, performed in its entirety by all 76 symphony members.
In a prepared statement released on Instagram, Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Engagement Natasha Kautsky wrote, “We’re still Jenny From The Block, fam. You know the Symphonizzle is where it’s at for all of the dopest music.” First Violinist Sarah Kwak added, “I was delighted to finally bring Air Force Ones to the big stage. It’s time someone showcased the obvious socioeconomic similarities of the music of Chopin and Liszt coming out of post Wagnerian Germany, and Nelly’s compositions from early twenty-first century Missouri.“
